Typing formulas in LaTeX is the first and simplest part to learn. This is because it is one of the most commonly used expressions when trying to write a thesis with LaTeX. Firstly, we assume that the necessary application for running LaTeX codes on your computer is installed in order for you to apply what you learn in this section of the course. Firstly, we need to mention that in LaTeX, there are multiple ways to accomplish what you want to do in many aspects. Today, we want to show you two different methods for writing LaTeX formulas.
Inline Equation
Firstly, you need to enclose the formula you want to present inline between dollar signs $ $
. This means that if we need to give an example, by writing $x^2+y^2=z^2$
, we obtain the text x2+y2=z2 within the text. We want to emphasize learning by writing mathematical formulas without complicating things, to ensure simplicity.
Display Style
Another method of writing LaTeX formulas is the method of writing formulas between paragraphs. This method is generally used for wider or more complex formulas. In this method, you need to write the mathematical expression you want between double dollar signs $$ $$
. For example, when you execute $$\sum_{i=0}^{\infty}x_i^2$$
, you will get the output as follows.
That’s all for today’s lesson. If you find it challenging to write more complex formulas, feel free to leave a comment, and we will try to assist you. Our online course today was about writing LaTeX formulas. Another one of our courses explained how to number the equations you write. If you have any problems during the thesis, article, assignment, or project writing stage, feel free to ask us in the comments section below. You can also explore articles in the Course category to access similar materials. If you don’t have enough time to learn how to write articles with LaTeX, or even if you do, but prefer assistance, we can help you write your thesis, article, assignment, project, presentation, or any other document in LaTeX on your behalf, whether it’s handwritten or written in another text editor.
